Ocupado

This is Walter, one of our favorite bixi drivers. He has been working with our groups for the last 6 years. Steve has an on going joke with him about always being "occupied" as a driver as Walter likes to "take breaks" more than he likes to work. Steve had a shirt made that says, "I am occupied"(as in busy) in Spanish. He added the verse Ecclesiastes 5:20. "For he does not often consider the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with the joy of his heart."

Meeting the needs

Steve delivered medicine to a friend we made here in Nagarote. His child needed a prescription filled and Steve helped out. Such a small amount of money to us is huge to the people of Nagarote.

Dirty Jobs!

Today we began filming for the TV show, "Dirty Jobs." Not really, but the men began leveling the floor in preparation for rough plumbing at the tabernacle. The "tabernacle," as the locals call it, will eventually serve as a mission building.

Books, books, and more books!

Free books for Nicaragua! It is great when you have friends looking out for you. While Bruce and Jennifer Sabin were recently at the Southern Baptist Convention in Baltimore, they kept their eyes open for resources to help the people of Nagarote, Nicaragua. Bruce and Jennifer have both been to Nicaragua on mission trips and continue to support our efforts. They were able to obtain almost 300 books including several titles to assist local pastors and their congregations. These books will join us as we head to Nicaragua next week. A special thanks to Bruce and Jennifer for their support!

Summer 2014

The summer can't get here soon enough. We are ready to return to Nicaragua where we feel called to serve. After the recent string of earthquakes, our sense of urgency is stronger than ever. Our goal, as always, will be to show and share the love of Christ. Due to the earthquakes, the need will be greater than before. Pray as we seek His will to do what we can to bring Him glory.

Finished!

Last summer, we began a project building a home for Juan Alberto. He and his family are faithful servants at the Alfa Y Omega Church in Nagarote. Harvest Assembly of Lakeland came and poured a foundation to begin a home for Juan and his family.
Then, First Baptist of Frostproof came in and had the walls and roof built.
On this trip, we hired Omar to stucco the outside.
The final product after painting and a picture of Juan and his amazing family.

More plumbing!

Todd plumbed a new bathroom on the farm for the farm workers. This is the area where it was built.
The ground was leveled and a water line was installed.
All the plumbing completed. Yes, the walls will go up AFTER the plumbing.....Viva Nicaragua!
Now we need some walls......we left money to hire the brick worker.
